5 Key InsightsWhat the data says this month
What ChangedAugust 2026 vs July 2026
Attention GapResearch is moving. The public hasn't noticed yet.

Each topic gets two independent rankings: how fast research is growing (Research velocity), and how much people are searching for it on Google (Public search interest). The gap is the difference between the two, on a 0–100 point scale.

Bigger is more notable, not "better." A high gap means the research is well ahead of public awareness, i.e. the biggest head start on a story nobody's telling yet. It says nothing about whether the research will pan out.
